VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Our vision for reconciliation is to continue providing children with a range of learning experiences in a respectful way to enhance children's knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ heritages and encourages connectedness with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples within our centre and community. We will maintain positive relationships and links with the Awabakal people, whose histories and cultures will be respectfully embedded throughout our centres program and daily routines. We will continue developing and maintaining strong relationships with the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community and connect with local Awabakal people  to collaborate with and share in our centre's reconciliation journey.  We will enhance our team's knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and heritages and the importance of sharing the continued significance of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ histories, cultures and contributions with children and families within our service in a respectful manner.  Our educators maintain sustainable practices and be inspired by longstanding and continuing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ cultures, contributions and practices. We will in turn use that inspiration to create appropriate and meaningful modern learning experiences.  We endeavour to share regular information with families regarding our progress with our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP). We will encourage families to be actively involved in our RAP and programming for whole service experiences.
