We believe in acknowledging and through play, teaching about, the true histories of Australia and to promote a sense of understanding, connection and respect for Australia’s First Peoples cultures, histories, and for the Land which we care about, and learn and play on. We will ensure we recognise and respect the histories, cultures and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. This is part of our shared history to work towards a connected, reconciled and respectful society.
As an organisation, we are committed to raising awareness about reconciliation, with the goal of encouraging all people in the broader community to embrace reconciliation and work towards reparation and justice for the Land’s First Peoples. We will demonstrate this through: gaining a deeper understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ways of knowing and learning; respectfully reflecting that knowledge at all levels of our service; improving access to our service for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families and developing genuine, respectful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and communities to create a sense of security and belonging for all in our community.
