VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Our vision for reconciliation is for our children, staff and community to gain a better understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples cultures and to celebrate this in the school and wider community.  To recognise, celebrate and embrace the richness of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, and value the role they play in our  community. For Aboriginal and Torres Strait students to feel pride in their ancestry and to develop knowledge to aid them in becoming the future leaders of tomorrow. For  Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families to feel culturally safe and respected at our school.  To engage in learning through cultural knowledge holders so that we can understand better and be a part of a better future.

We acknowledge that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are the Traditional Owners of Australia, and the longest surviving culture on the planet and value the knowledgess and experiences they bring.

We aim to engage our school community in striving for Reconciliation with enhanced connection and respectful understanding.  Together with the community, we are working towards building strong and respectful reciprocal relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples through collaborating with Aboriginal families, local Aboriginal organisations and Elders.
