Harristown State School’s vision for reconciliation is ‘collaboration for success’. We are passionate about improving educational outcomes for all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students through recognition of the diverse range of learners and their unique cultural backgrounds. Our vision for success moving forward is to work in collaboration with staff, families and the wider community to develop a better understanding and respect of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives and use these to positively incorporate them into the curriculum and, in turn, into the classroom and school community. Our approach will focus around the five-dimensions, in accordance with Reconciliation Australia’s Reconciliation in Australia report.

At Harristown, we understand that progress needs to happen holistically. We will endeavour to focus our commitment across these areas to ensure equality and equity for all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
