VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Our Vision for Reconciliation at Elanora Heights Community Preschool is to create a community where strong connections and respect thrive among all members. We envision a future where we recognise and celebrate the rich cultures and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Reconciliation, to us, is an ongoing journey of learning and collaboration, where we work together to create an inclusive environment for everyone. We strive to see all Australians coming together to honour the enduring histories of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and appreciate their ongoing contributions to the nation's identity. Our vision encompasses embracing Australia's true history while respecting and valuing the diverse cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

As early childhood professionals, we understand the importance of initiating the journey of reconciliation from a young age. We are dedicated to respectfully integrating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives into every aspect of our teaching programs and interactions with young children. Recognising that our preschool is located on the traditional lands of the Guringai people, we are committed to fostering meaningful reciprocal connections with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in the local area. By nurturing these relationships and embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives into our early learning curriculum, physical environments, and daily practices, we aim to break down barriers and move forward together toward a future marked by understanding, respect, and unity.
