At Great Beginnings Gymea, our vision for reconciliation is to incorporate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander practices and cultures into our daily programming and planning and learn how to teach the children of the importance of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture. We recognise and acknowledge the importance of understanding the histories of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and want to incorporate this knowledge into our teaching. In doing so, we are educating the future generation on the importance of understanding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ways of being and knowing and true histories to help close the gap in equality and equity educational outcomes and opportunities.
