VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Brighton Early Learning Centre, we hold a profound commitment to fostering a culture of reconciliation, one that deeply respects and acknowledges the enduring connection of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to this Land. We recognise that reconciliation is not just a destination but an ongoing journey, rooted in understanding, empathy, and meaningful action.

At the heart of our vision is our unwavering dedication to honouring the Traditional Custodians of this Land, whose wisdom and cultures enrich our shared existence. We aspire to create an environment where their voices are heard, their stories are valued, and their knowledge is celebrated.

Through genuine engagement and collaboration, we seek to embed reconciliation into our service and our community. This involves actively learning about the histories, cultures and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, both past and present. It means fostering an inclusive culture that embraces diversity and champions equality and equity for all.

As we educate and nurture children in our care, we are committed to instilling in them a deep respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures, fostering empathy, and nurturing a sense of belonging for all.

We want to respectfully connect with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, to listen, learn and act with integrity. We envision a future where the wisdom of the world's oldest living cultures continues to inspire and guide us.

In the spirit of reconciliation, we want to join with our families, children, educators, and community, to embark on a collaborative journey of healing, understanding and unity. We want to honour the true past, embrace the present and shape a future where reconciliation is not only possible, but inevitable.
