VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Murilla Community Centre Childcare Services, reconciliation means to us "Coming Together". Reconciliation refers to bringing together Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and other Australians.

We believe Reconciliation is not something that one decides to 'do' - it is an ongoing process, at the end of which reconciliation will be realised. Reconciliation has elements of truth, justice, forgiveness, healing, reparation and love.

Supporting reconciliation means working to overcome the division which is often referred to as 'the gap' and inequality and inequity between Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander People and Non-Indigenous people.

We will ensure our teachers and educators seek out opportunities to embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander perspectives and our vision and plans for reconciliation into our daily planning and practice around the Frameworks. We will establish a strong relationship between the local aboriginal and Torres Strait islander community and wider community to ensure reconciliation is meaningfully embedded in everyday learning environments.
