VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Our vision for reconciliation is to see unity between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and other Australians. We would like to be a part of a culture that represents equity and equality and acceptance of our shared histories. Reconciliation must live in the hearts, minds and actions of all as we move forward. At Keiki Tapping, this represents equal and equitable educational opportunities and outcomes for both Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous people, and an inclusive and diverse workplace that is not just culturally safe, but culturally rich and proud.

We are committed to working in a respectful way with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, organisations and communities, recognising the diversity of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ cultures and histories and acknowledging First Nations peoples’ deep connections with the lands, waters and communities. We aim to ensure Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples’ cultures are valued, respected and affirmed across all areas of our community of practice and support the need for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ rights to be recognised and protected under Australian Law.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, and all children, have equal and equitable opportunities to exercise choices about the way in which they lead meaningful, healthy lives, including those which sustain their cultures. We acknowledge the RAP is a continual process and we will add to it and grow individually and as a team. It is our goal that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander heritages and perspectives are embedded authentically and deeply in the future and that it is entrenched in our belonging, being, and becoming.
